Wow. This is old. Found it in the vaults. Um...yah. Based on a famous portrait of who is believed to be Lady Jane Grey. Clothing design based on the portrait, but the face and the design actually on the clothing is my own artistic license.
Sorry the table sucks..You all know I stink at backgrounds.
i love that dress!!! it's so detailed and even. is that a little fleur de lis on the bodice? i don't think Lady Jane was French .
that head piece is gorgeous and her face has such a pointed expression, particularly if you know the story behind Lady Jane Grey. !!!
Yup yup. I titled it Lady Jane, though the drawing isn't necessarily of her, just based upon her. Anyway, the fleur de lis wasn't exclusively French and I just like its design, so I threw it in there. *sigh* Poor Jane...
Thanks for the fave and comment!

Lady Jane Grey - wasn't she supposed to be really short? I read in a book she was the shortest monarch in British history... and your Lady Grey looks quite tall...
Beautiful dress - I've got this thing for drawing olden-day dresses (but I hate wearing dresses or even skirts, bleargh!). Though in my humble opinion this pic needs some shading/toning/or even a splash of colour.

The fleur de lis is used to symbolize royalty. Which Lady Grey was. For a few days, anyway.
